Using the prompter
Voice-activated teleprompter: a prompter that listens and waits when you pause
Short answer: A voice-activated teleprompter listens to you and keeps the word you're saying on the reading line. Pause and the text waits. Skip a word or put a sentence in your own words and it catches up. Voice tracking works in Chrome, Edge and Safari, in 24 languages, with eight English accents to choose from.
What does voice tracking do?
An ordinary prompter scrolls at a fixed speed. Stop to show something to camera or answer a question and the text runs away. With voice tracking there is no speed: the text moves only while you talk, and exactly as far as you've read.
What happens if I go off script?
- You pause: the text stays put for as long as you're quiet.
- You skip a word or two: tracking finds the next words it recognises and carries on from there.
- You ad-lib: when you come back to the script, tracking finds your place again.
- You scroll yourself: manual scrolling always wins, and tracking picks up from where you left it.
Does it understand my accent?
Pick the accent you actually speak with: US, UK, Australian, Canadian, Indian, Irish, New Zealand or South African English. Recognition is more accurate when it expects your accent. Voice tracking also works in 23 other languages; the word-class colours are tuned for English and Finnish.

When is a fixed speed better?
When you need an exact length – a 30-second ad, say – a fixed speed with a target time keeps the rhythm identical from take to take. Voice tracking shines when you speak more freely, pause, or demo something mid-sentence.
Is my voice recorded?
No. The app doesn't store your audio for tracking. Recognition is done by your browser's own speech recognition and needs microphone permission. Recording a video is a separate feature you start yourself.
